The program represents the experimental part of the long-term research intent established on CTU Prague. Research is oriented on sub-nuclear and nuclear physics and is based mainly on well-founded international collaboration of CTU with CERN and JINR Dubna. Research infrastructure at the CTU is effectively utilized for participation on international experiments in particle and nuclear physics. Individual sub-nuclear projects involve specific tasks for the construction of the fundamental experiments "ATLAS on LHC" and "DIRAC" at CERN. Position-sensitive detectors developed for the ATLAS experiment represent state-of-the-art detector technology with promising applications namely in medicine. Nuclear physics projects, oriented on studies of double beta decay, radiative neutron capture, direct nuclear reactions, nucleon-nucleon scattering and methods of neutron diffraction, are performed on facilities at JINR, ILL Grenoble, TU Muenchen and Saclay. The program results have been summarized in about 30 presentations for the year 1999: 1 monography [1], 13 publications in assessed international journals (e.g. [2], [3], [4]), 3 contributions to international conferences, 2 reports issued by international organizations and 11 presentations held at international meetings. One diploma thesis was defended. Experiments form also the basis in research programs of 5 undergraduate and 7 graduate students.
