FNSPE and FEE Common Laboratory for
Practical Optoelectronics

A new teaching laboratory for practical optoelectronics has been built together by the Departments of Physical Electronics of FNSPE and Microelectronics of FEE. The aim is to enhance the practical proficiency of sudents in both bachelor and engineering programs in optoelectronics and related fields (optics, laser technology etc.). The laboratory has been developed by integration of (A) four current practical excercises in Optoelectronics (Dept. of Microlelectronics), (B) four tasks which are currently fullfiled by students as a part of practical trainig in Laser technology (Dept. of Physical Electronics) and (C) four new practical tasks which have been just created as a part of a project supported by a FRVS grant.

The new tasks have been focused on (1) spectrum measurements of clasical and laser sources, (2) dispersion properties of optical waveguides, (3) Fourier optics and spatial filtration, and (4) optical sensors. The teaching laboratory will operate from the beginning of the next term and will be open to all CTU students. It is expected that 40 - 50 students from the two collaborating departments will attend the teaching in this laboratory every year.
